Whimsical Art, Sweet Treats & Enchanted Stories

Birch trees are known to grow in packs, They surround and protect each others growth by nurturing and standing tall side by side as a family allowing their beauty to reign. Did you know that you can use birch paper that has fallen off a tree to sketch on or as a collage.   Happy New year everyone, I am a bit late in starting my newsletter, the last year has been challenging for me as my moms health has been slowly deteriorating and finding inspiration  has been a challenge, so I will not promise monthly posts and paintings for SpinklesofMoondust, I am simply taking it a season at a time.   Winter is the quiet season, a time to nurture, to self care, to journal and imagine.  ” Surrounded ” came to life from pure emotion as I sat along my mothers bedside at the hospital in November watching her sleep I felt completely alone and helpless. I am not able to stop the passing of time and I cant heal what is broken, all i can do is pray and hold her hand . Caring for an aging parent as many of you know can be depleting at times, an explosion of emotions run through my mind every day and it is hard to balance it all out.  .. It was in that moment when all seemed bleak that I made a promise for the coming year to surround myself with the people that make me feel like home,  the family and friends that hold on to me just a little longer, the ones who make it easy to be with, the people I can sit in silence and feel the love. Surrounded is my gift to you this season.  It is simple. Stand tall and if you should falter I hope you are surrounded by the magic of friendship and those that will hold  you up when you need it.  This season I am learning about wintering and what this time means for us.

Take a moment and think about what wintering means for you? If you wish to share please add your comments in the post, I would love to read them.

Until we meet again,  Katerini
